RACE DIRECTOR INSTRUCTIONS

Swim: 200/800yd Time Trial: Warmup as needed, then knock out a hard 200yd Time Trial, recover for (:60s) and then roll straight into the 800yd time trial. The recovery is (:60s) only!!! Record times for both the 200 and 800.

Note: When manually entering your swim splits via the "Add an Activity" window, since we have two swim splits, please enter your first swim segment of 200 yards using the "Swimming (1)" item in the Activity drop-down and your second swim segment of 800 yards using the "Swimming (2)" item in the drop-down.

For swim, bike and run, you can take multiple attempts at each segment as many times as you like during the event start and end dates and we'll count your fastest segment times towards your live standings and final results.

Bike: 7 mile Mile Trial: Have to do this outdoors as it’s the only way to have this work for all folks. Route is whatever you’d like it to be - 428 out by the Natatorium works well for a straight shot!!! Record time for the 7 mile distance.

Run: 1 Mile Time Trial: One mile as quick as you can!!! Record time for the distance.

There will be a winner for fastest time for each segment, and cumulative time for all three events.

If you want to do this a few times throughout the month, go for it as we will also have a winner for most improved times.

Working on the Honor system, but feel free to share those Garmin or Strava files!! You can do all three events, or hammer out the one’s you are interested in doing.

In this virtual triathlon, sponsored by KMF Performance, you can compete against fellow triathletes and see how you stack up. You can perform each segment, any time, any where and in any order.

GENERAL INFORMATION

What is a virtual triathlon?
Athletes have the convenience of swimming, biking and running the distance of a sprint triathlon on their own schedule anywhere in the world — indoors or outside. Do the distance all at once like a traditional triathlon or break it into one leg per day. The beauty of a virtual triathlon is the flexibility.

Who is virtual triathlon for?
Anyone! Whether you’re looking to do your first triathlon or have done hundreds, anyone can participate. To be considered a finisher, you simply need to complete the required distance for swimming, cycling and running before the end of the event.

Where should I participate?
Wherever you can safely swim, bike and run! Swim in a pool or open water. Ride on the trainer or outdoors. Run on a treadmill, track or trail. As long as you can measure your time and distance via a smartwatch, GPS-enabled device or phone, you can enter your time and distance on the Virtual Sports Racing platform.

What equipment do I need?
A GPS-enabled device, phone or smartwatch to record your workout is encouraged, but you do not have to have a tracking device. Basic swim, bike and run gear or access to a stationary bike, pool or treadmill is all you really need to participate.
